Business Overview and History

NorthRidge Tractor Inc. got its start as the product of a merger between Bruce Tractor & Lawn Care Ltd. of Walkerton and Ivan J. H. Carmichael Limited of Chatsworth. The name NorthRidge represents the Northern Trade area of Ontario's main food basket which stretches from Lake Huron, North to Tobermory, East to Blue Mountain and South to Highway 4. "Ridge" was chosen to symbolize the Niagara Escarpment that runs through Grey and Bruce counties which our trade area lies in. Our marketplace is undergoing tremendous change. Farm businesses are expanding but the number of farmers continues to decrease. The new generation of farmers are better educated, resourceful and have greater access to information and technology.

The Consumer and Commercial equipment segments of our business are rapidly changing as well. We are seeing excellent growth in the Large Property Area as more people move or retire from the heavily populated Greater Toronto Area Our to the playground of Southern Georgian Bay. This merger has been created so that we can become a larger, more competitive and successful company which can provide "World Class" service and support to our customers.
